I dealt with dewolfe several years ago. They contacted me about some cues I sent in for a project and said they were interested. They wanted me to change a few things and send them the results. I did and they said they were happy with them. The person I talked to was very friendly and professional. After contacting them a couple weeks later about the project, I was told that the budget fell through. The person I talked with was apologetic and told me to keep in touch so I could stay informed on the status of the project. After about a month I lost interest and therefore ended up wasting my time.

I sent them a couple of CD’s and then called them up a few weeks later. The lady who answered was clearly in a very bad mood, and was very, very rude. I put the phone down.
I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Same here. I have been to their offices in London, and they are not a regular small time stock music library at all, they are one of the big boys out there….. serious money to be made if you are in Dewolfe!

I have an aquaintance who has a lot of music placed with them and speaks very highly of them, makes a reasonable earning as I understand it. He’s been with them several years.

I currently work at DeWolfe Music (US office). Just a note out there to all that would like to submit music…it’s best to send your materials or try to contact the main office in London.
That’s where those decisions are made.
I am also a musician an understand how difficult it can be to get “your foot in the door” with a music library. Wishing you all the best any happy music making!

Hi Art,
you cant actually submit via email to them as per the category above. And the US office doesnt accept unsolicited demos. Its cd in a package with bio to the london office.

p.s. oops…someone else has been kind enough to answer the question above. Sorry for the repetition.

I actually submitted via e-mail and got 6 tunes accepted with upfront money
on each. So, it can be done.

I’ve used DeWolfes music in t.v and film production for years. They do not require us to send them cue sheets just so you know. We fill them out anyway b/c we use other libraries that do require a report and that’s just our system. Needless to say the writers get their pros when people like us file our cuesheets but you have to figure a lot (if not most) production companies using their music will not report them simply b/c if the company doesn’t require a report then they don’t think that it matters.

I currently work as Head Of Marketing for De Wolfe. I’d like to get any information updated and correct if possible. The ‘contact us’ link appears to be invalid, perhaps someone could contact me and I’ll fill in any gaps?
As mentioned above, we’re always happy to receive demos via email/ftp/cd, contact details can be found on the site. Obviously we can’t respond to every submission as we receive so many.
With regards to cue sheets, all cues are to be reported to PRS For Music (in UK anyway), it is their job to distribute royalties to us. However we do also track cues ourself if we suspect music to be used without being reported.
