Hi everyone,
Does anyone know which BMI email is the right one to report track airings detected through services like BMAT or TRQK?
I found cjingles@bmi.com, but I assume that’s only for jingles. Is there another e-mail used for other types of airings?
By the way, is this kind of reporting something you do often?
Thanks in advance!

Quick follow-up (apologies if it’s a silly question):
Is it considered appropriate to proactively let BMI know about airings when you become aware of them through your own tracking (like TRQK/BMAT)? Or is it better to wait for the quarterly report and only reach out if something seems to be missing? I’m just trying not to be a nuisance. 🙂By the way, I had used that email before during the initial registration process, and Chris was really helpful. Still, I find it surprising that there isn’t an official BMI email for non-jingle reporting — like there is for jingles.
Thanks again!

I don’t know how their “technology” upgrades are affecting this problem. Hopefully they can pull themselves into this century. I know there is/was some leeway in jingles and workarounds for such.
Good luck, you’re going to need it. Report back if you have success. I have thousands and thousands of performances / uses that don’t have cue sheets submitted, therefore they are not paid out. Oh well….

I’m still new to all this, but so far my experience with BMI has been surprisingly positive: I received a high 4-figure payment in just my second quarterly cycle, way beyond what I expected (especially since I’d often heard it can take 2–3 years to start seeing real earnings). Maybe I got too lucky..
