BMI Payout

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully the new year will be much better than the last!
I was just wondering how everyone’s recent BMI payout was?
Mine was down about 25%. I haven’t submitted a lot since COVID started, but will change that this year. I’ve been building up a collection of Surf music with a co-writer of mine.

Me too, mine was down from this quarter last year. International was down but USA was way down.

Same here and I’m also comparing the year ago quarter.

Down about 35% from the previous one. I was expecting even worse, Tunesat activity for that quarter was dismal.

yep same. mine was worst quarter in the past 3-4 statements.

The only thing that saved us was the payout for a commercial that ran constantly for a year. That ended in December so I imagine a few quarters we will see a sharper decline.

Mine was down by about 80%, lowest I’ve had in about 5 years. Hopefully the next will be better

My payout was low as well. Haven’t seen it this low in over 3 years.

My quarter was up.

BTW, there will be 5 BMI payouts this year, with the last one coming in November. They are adjusting the schedule in 2022 so that payouts are spaced evenly, every three months.

Unexpected money from Hong Kong, Kubed, for a track that’s 20 years old! Also received unexpected money from ASCAP for another 20-year old track that was used in a Golf Digest show.
