Does anyone have experience with storing a desktop computer (and external hard drives) in below-freezing conditions, at least for a brief period of time?  I am moving cross country, and my desktops are in the moving truck which I am driving – unfortunately too packed away to get to.  For the next few nights, the temp will fall just below freezing, having been in the 40s (fahrenheit) during the day.  From what I have read, it shouldn’t be a problem so long as I don’t power them up while they’re cold.  Any info regarding this would be helpful.  thanks!

I’m no expert but I’ve driven across country and left my DAW,outboard processors and laptop in the car on cold nights and never had an issue when finally getting around to plugging it back in – on some REALLY cold nights too – Jay

Thanks, Jay.  I’m not going to sweat it.  …no pun intended.
