Does anyone here have any info or have done some estate planning regarding intellectual property & royalty transfer to their heirs after death? I read that its better to prepare since the taxes can get expensive and would put a burden on recipients if done incorrectly

would like to understand the process, costs, and what type of accountant/lawyer to contact for these matters…thanks

and just to confirm, post 1978 works have a copyright duration of the authors lifespan + 70 years after death, is that correct?

We have an LLC and set up a trust. MichealL would be the guy to know. Maybe he will weigh in.

    Hi Musicmatters,
It really depends on the size and complexity of your estate. If you have significant assets you should consider an attorney who specializes in estate planning. The same would apply if you have complicated needs with respect to your beneficiaries.
