    Hello All:
Usually I have signed Non exclusive deals which last usually 3 to 5 years.
I have a new Library that is ok with no exclusive, but asks for perpetuity. I’m a little worried because these are my best tracks.
Do you see any kind of disadvantage in signing a contract like that?
    Thanks for your advice.

hey Walden – one drawback would be limiting your options. You couldn’t remove those tracks for other opportunities (a more desirable deal with an exclusive library, for a film or commercial etc).

Thank you Paul Biondi. I will consider the things you mentioned.

Yes, perpetuity still means a loss of options; even though the tracks are non-exclusive

If they were alright with doing a non-ex deal. Push, and see if they’ll do a reversion clause..
