A huge inspiration to me . Especially over the last couple years in the smooth jazz world. It was only in the last year tat I subscribed to Artist Works to his page to try to pump up my jazz chops. Last years grammy winer for best contemporary instrumental album. I started following him when I discovered he was Fourplay’s latest guitarist and became a big fan of his back smooth jazz catolog. He also composed some older themes for CNN and headlines news amongst several others for television and film. Sad day. While a cause of death was not given last I looked a little research indicated he had been battling cancer.
RIP Chuck Loeb. A friend of mine did some gigs on bass with him a few years back and we had a chance to meet….
Several of my buddies had played in his band over the years; a huge inspiration, and amazing guitarist.
