    Hello,

My apologies for this very basic question, I’m at the start of my career and this is the first time I’ve run into this particular issue. After about an hour on google with no answers, I thought this would be the best place to turn to for information.

I have a track with two other co-writers. Two of us are with ASCAP and one is with BMI. The BMI writer registered the track with all three of our name numbers with BMI.

Do I need to go ahead and register with ASCAP as well, or will that potentially create problems with duplicate registrations?

    Thanks,

    Matt

It is fine to also register the track with ASCAP. Just make sure that you provide the exact same info in your registration (composers, publishers, splits) as your BMI writer did with theirs. In fact, one library I work with now insists on registration with PROs from each co-writer who has a different PRO.
