    Hello, another code question.

In looking through my BMI catalog, I noticed a certain library created multiple ISWC (not ISRC) codes for different versions of a song (same mix) that I submitted.

For instance, full mix had one ISWC, 30 second edit had a different ISWC number, 60 second was different, and so on.

I was under the impression that a single ISWC code followed all versions of the composition/recording around?

Anyone else notice this, and won’t this create confusion? Might this affect me assigning my own ISWC code to my releases or new mixes?

Or should I go ahead and just assign my own ISWC code to my version (new mixes), since their IWSC in BMI lists the library as the Publisher and me as the Composer?

I emailed the library, and am awaiting a response.

Online searches just responded with “a song should only have one ISWC code”, but nothing about the implications of multiple codes.
