Today I spotted something called “NCTA – Annual” royalties on my latest BMI statement and it is quite a high amount. I can see that NCTA is short for National Cable TV Association (It is in the “U.S. Performances – Other Sources”, “NATIONAL CABLE TV ASSOCIATION” section.).

Does someone know what this is and what the royaltie amount is based on?

    Thanks in advance!

And of course right after posting this I found an answer in this news article from 2000!

I’ve seen that payout on other distributions but it’s nominal compared to the Sept Q1 payout which includes the annual. A nice windfall indeed. It made up about 15% of my total statement
