This is a space I am not as well versed in. I’m curious what everyone’s experience has been like releasing library albums on their own through online distributors in 2025? From what I understand, it can rely heavily on pitching to Spotify/Apple Music playlists etc. But what has your personal experience been like? Is the income becoming worth the effort?

I’ve been doing this for a year or two now but not really promoting them. Not much on my end with this approach but I could work harder at it.

Too soon to twll, but I have been more consistent with it, and it is slowly growing. Emphasis on SLOWLY. And common wisdom is that you also need to spend a fair amount of time promoing it, like if you create a track a month getting creative putting together, for example, youtube shorts, performance videos. yada yada

I just started running META ads for our Latin music album and have to say it’s doing pretty well, on Spotify, after only 4 days. 1346 Streams, 226 Listeners, 200 Saves and 2177 Playlist adds. Much better compared to what it had been doing. We’ll see what it turns into.
