So sad to hear and too soon. I had the pleasure of working with Phil on a couple of occasions as a guitar player. I remember him as a kind, gentle and patient man. He will be sorely missed.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ramone a few years back when he judged a recording competition I was involved in. He said some flattering things about my work, and it was very evident he had a great passion for what he did, even after so many years in the business. His encouragement and help was greatly appreciated by us students. He contributed to a great experience in my life. R.I.P.
Yep a giant, with an astonishing body of work.RIP.
