I am wondering how many other UK based composers are members here? As far as I am aware there’s no UK version of MLR, so I thought I’d give a little shout out to any of my fellow countrymen who may be lurking here!
If you are a UK composer and, like me, you rarely see anything but the inside of your own studio – feel free to introduce yourself and say hi. 🙂maxpowerParticipantOr be anonymous and say hi…

OrcaParticipantHi Max, I’m Orca and I live in the UK. I’m working on my studio tan today 🙂
maxpowerParticipantHi Orca. Yeah I can see the sunshine out of the window – can I get a tan that way!?
I am in Truro in Cornwall so pretty near the equator! 😉anonymousGuestHi Orca and Max. You are not alone. 🙂
I’m Dominic, living near Cambridge and finding the UK scene quite hard to get into. I’ve been composing quite general library music for a few years now but trying to specialise a little more towards the direction of some of the more recent BBC-type dramas – McMafia, Hard Sun, Requiem, The Missing ….etc. The library scene here is very tight indeed.
maxpowerParticipantYou’re dead right Dominic. I am lucky enough to make enough money at this to do it for a living, but hardly any of my revenue comes from the UK. Like you I’m working on it though !
BEATSLINGERParticipantWow! I am in Northern California, USA. From the looks of my checks I thought it was “really popping” over there! A good “Chunk” of my Royalty Payments are from PRS, and SACEM
OrcaParticipantHi All,
I’m in South Devon by the sea. I’ve had no luck with UK library music companies. My best placements so far have come through companies in the US and Europe. Not making a living at it yet but it’s getting better every year, so hopefully it will continue to grow.
