Most seem to have these original album like covers for their submitted album style tracks.
tiaDecember 5, 2025 at 12:43 pm #47949Art MunsonKeymaster@Pat I us AI and I’ve noticed libraries are starting to do that also. If you go to here, and scroll past the songs, you will see what I’ve done. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4k8ihbjjwlxlWgcCBYdB0V/discography/all
December 5, 2025 at 7:56 pm #47950PatParticipantThanks Art. You have some fantastic covers that seem perfectly matched to the music styles. I’m starting to look into the different options.
December 6, 2025 at 9:02 am #47951Art MunsonKeymaster@Pat I believe I used ChatGPT to create the album covers (it’s been a couple of years). I gave it some titles, genre and feel. With AI it’s all in the prompting, so play with it a bit until you get what you want.
December 6, 2025 at 10:28 am #47952PatParticipantYeah, I’m just checking out ChatGPT and I also messed around with OpenArt AI which was pretty interesting and easy to get into. Thanks for your input Art.
December 6, 2025 at 2:39 pm #47953WMProductionsParticipantThe last two publishers I signed with stipulated that AI art was not allowed. (I provided artwork for one library, the other library provided their own artist for the other album.)
If we’re gonna complain about AI killing our industry, it sounds hypocritical that we’re okay with doing that to visual artists.December 6, 2025 at 2:48 pm #47954PatParticipantInteresting. I’m new to the whole album cover for music libraries thing but had no idea there was controversy with that too.
December 6, 2025 at 2:55 pm #47955WMProductionsParticipantVisual artists should be our closest allies and I think we should support each other when it comes to AI ruining our livelihoods. In fact, I’m seeing way more AI generated ‘art’ all over SM these days.
Personally, I’m sick of it and I’d never give a dime to any of these billionaire tech bros to help me ‘make art’.December 6, 2025 at 4:09 pm #47957Art MunsonKeymaster@WMProductions. I understand your frustration. However, I’m afraid AI is here to stay. The choice is yours whether to adapt and make the best of it or stand against the tide. Personally I think of it as an opportunity to learn and to grow. I have been creating images, music videos, finding musical ideas and writing computer code – all of which would have beeen financially out of the question for most of us.
December 7, 2025 at 7:57 am #47958WMProductionsParticipantI think it’s a slippery slope. My wife was a copywriter for close to 40 years and lost her job (mostly) to AI, as well as corporate greed.
I use AI like a super powered Google. Things like looking over contracts, helping diagnose the occasional glitch I have with my DAW, I tried to get a specific template for Kontact in Reaper, and it horrendously failed at that.
With day to day problems, it helped me diagnose issues with my fridge and car. In those cases, it was more about going to a tech with knowledge so I wouldn’t get screwed. So they still made $$, just not as much as they maybe could have. With any kind of art is where I draw the line, so to speak. I do freelance work for an ad agency and I worry that I may be replaced. I also have a great relationship with their video team, and I’m sure they must be concerned too. Except these people are much younger than me with little kids and families to support. I’m kind of over that age hump where it probably won’t affect me as much.
I’m not trying to argue or flex any kind of integrity or altruism, but I do think this is a problem for humanity.
Personally, these tech bro billionaires hoarding money sicken me to the core.December 7, 2025 at 9:33 am #47959Art MunsonKeymaster@WMProductions. That’s the thing with new technology, it can be a major disruptor. I always go back to the buggy whip makers when the automobile came out. They had to learn to adapt to survive.
I am sorry it’s affected you so personally. I know a young man trained as a software engineer but is having trouble finding work, because of AI.
I do agree with you on the tech bros. No one should have that kind of money with so much suffering in this world.
December 7, 2025 at 9:38 am #47962WMProductionsParticipantThanks, Art. Look at that. A discussion on the internet that was cordial!
Off topic, but MLR is a great resource and I’m glad you’re keeping it going. My membership runs out soon and I hope to renew once I figure out some finances.December 7, 2025 at 9:53 am #47963Art MunsonKeymaster🙂
December 8, 2025 at 10:32 am #47964abellboyParticipantI have never had to supply album art for any of the libraries that I have signed to. I was once asked to describe what I would like on the album cover for an “artist album” I did for a publisher, but their artist did the work.
December 9, 2025 at 8:43 am #47968TunesmithParticipantI create my own using photos I took as background to represent the mood of the song and then I upload them into Canva to finish with text and graphics you can pay for.
These are for my singles on Spotify etc but I Use them in libraries as well if they want cover art.
For instrumentals I use my logo as a cover. -
