    Hi,

Last year, I agreed to create approximately 60 tracks for a channel-based library in the US. Given the disappointing outcomes, as it has not delivered the promised results (only a handful of placements on this channel), I decided to withdraw from the project and reclaim my tracks to distribute them to other libraries.

While some placements have occurred, they haven’t been significant. Despite not receiving payment, I was required to split the performance rights 50/50 with the music producer, who didn’t contribute artistically to my tracks.
I haven’t signed any contracts yet.

Aside from discontinuing work with this exploitative individual, would there be any risk in offering the tracks to other publishers ?

I think to be on the safe side you would want a signed release of some sort. I’m not a lawyer and this is not legal advice!

    I understand.
But as I have not signed any contract, nor I have been hired contractually to write these tracks, they don’t have to release something they don’t own.
