So, I recently got commissioned to write a custom piece for an international film. My contact there said “no PRO money” when I spoke to him, before I wrote it. They never gave me a contract, and I sent them an invoice for payment. My question to the seasoned composers here is: would you register this track with your PRO, or figure on the company “owning” the song, absent of any contract?
