Thanks Art! This is very helpful.
How long does it take to start seeing sales like the ones in the article, if you’re good.

P.S. Do you know the best World Fusion libraries?

Check the poll here for a good example on the number of libraries composers are in: https://musiclibraryreport.com/polls-archive/

Hi Brian, this has been covered a lot here. Try this for some insight: https://musiclibraryreport.com/music-retitling/retitling/

“It would be great to see a Contract Length parameter added to the search engine.”

Ask and you may sometimes receive! 🙂

“Contract Length” search field has been added.

I think it’s more than reasonable to ask for an income threshold, if a library want’s to own a copyright without paying in advance. What that amount might be would vary with each individual.

I think just about all of the royalty free library sites have that.

“What are the “standard” terms for an Exclusive library with no up front money?”

Generally speaking I would say 50/50 on sync license and 50/50 on PRO income with some type if reversion clause after two or three years. Income threshold on reversion if necessary.

Love the forum – thanks for making improvements to this great site. It’s becoming a daily thing for me, to check what you all are talking about and what I should be looking into!

The problem with trying to move everything to the forum format is that there are over 17,000 posts and comments. There may be software to do that at some point but I doubt I would even attempt it if there were.

The library stuff will stay as is and general conversations will be carried on in the forums.

“What’s the point of this forum?”
Under the heading that you can’t please everyone!

A forum is something that has been requested a number of times over the years. It should be easier to keep track of topics and conversations as the “comment” style of responding to a particular question can quickly get chaotic. The forums will remain free.
