No problem…I actually got to meet and hang out a little with Will Ackerman, the founder of Windham Hill Records…think he and Hedges were good friends back in the day..

Wow I do envy you guys Mspak1 and Art ….I’m still out there gigging it at 61 eventually it will be over for me too…I do occasional get to go home early…..lol…. for what it’s worth and really weird is since I’ve been producing my own music for libraries over the past few years. Somehow this has made me a better listening musician when playing out live. I can’t explain it except maybe because I’ve had to learn where other instruments and vocals live in the mix other than my guitar…or maybe I’ve just learned how to deflate my own ego….lol

Mspak1 I’m thinking sounds a bit like Michael Hedges…I’d put some synth or pads underneath IMHO…..welcome aboard!

I feel a lot better I’m pushing 62….and I do a lot of Tropical House and I’m a guitardude lol ….I believe music is an absolute cosmic vibration connected to the soul which has no concerns of age, race, creed or genre…..

Hey philcush…I had some time to listen to the first track…I’m a guitar player myself so know upfront I’m going to really be listening to it sorry nature of the beast…lol..I really liked the backing rhythm …that said.the lead guitar IMHO needs some more work it was stabbing me in the forehead its to up front..needs some depth and warmth …try double tracking it maybe to give some width tons of YouTube vids on this subject..and the tone needs some warmth….I know finding that right guitar amp and cab sim is a quest… waves CLA guitar plugin I use on a lot of my guitar stuff hope this helps and it is just MHO…keep on rocking it…

Hi SomeGuyDoingStuff…..I like the vibe of the track…some things I would have tried…make more width and depth on the violin part …maybe a littttle bit more reverb and width to set the mood to be more darker on the violin part…I did like the cello panned to one side (in orchestra stuff you got to move those strings around… I’ve taken my fair share of tough critiques on this myself)..I’m not an expert on strings by far but I know what I like to hear…and take some of the treble out of the violin seemed like to much treble to me ….just my opinion..hope this helps…

Still working on my process …lately I’ve been uploading a song and edits as soon as I’m happy with the mix..then do the spreadsheet soon as Pond5 lets it in which actually is getting alot quicker for me (not sure what is going on there yet)..maybe they like me..lol…then I register them with my PRO….it becomes a real chore if I let tracks pile up…before doing the admin…but this is my process thus far..so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea…

Hey Glenn here’s some of what I’ve experienced in this situation….I used some of Roniit’s vocals…and unless you see this warning…like I see with my sample library ….”PLEASE READ DISCLAIMER: With this sample pack, you may use all of the vocals royalty-free to release commercially. You may not however use the Roniit name or likeness with your releases (example, “featuring Roniit”). Such misuse of these samples will incite takedown requests”……if you have no such disclaimer I would steer clear of a potentially bad situation ….hope that helps…. 🙂
