This seems much cheaper than contacting a lawyer. I’ve been offered a few exclusive deals. Is it typical for the library to permanently own the tracks upon an exclusive agreement? One indicated this, although offered me 2,000 up front for the deal. I’ll have to ask the non-exclusive library to remove the tracks I want to submit.

I’m still baffled by the advantage of an artist signing a work exclusively. The artist now leaves it up to the library to prioritize the track. A great track can sit accumulating virtual dust. The library has no obligation or requirement to advocate. How would the artist know either way? I’d rather have the freedom and initiative to affiliate with as many libraries as possible. I feel like if the track is deemed viable, they’ll put it out there and benefit if the clientele likes it. Unless it’s a well-known song.

I’ve been reading about exclusive vs non- exclusive deals. I’ve recorded mainly classical guitar pieces, although some original music. I’ve been at an impasse….. Do I upload to multiple sites or try secure an exclusive deal? Also, if I upload to other sites, have I eliminated opportunities for an exclusive deal? Exclusive deals seem limting. I didn’t want to have songs sitting in space “collecting dust”.

I don’t see the benefit of having an affiliation with one exclusive library when I can upload to numerous exclusive ones.

I didn’t want to have songs sitting in virtual space “collecting dust” while having no autonomy. I’ve also been seeking starting my own publishing Co. Looks very complex, although I have the focus and initiative. Any feedback would be appreciated.

411 music group expressed an interest in using some music, although
only exclusively.

I’m relatively new to online music libraries. I have uploaded to a few sites. Royalty free. Non-exclusive. I was offered to be included in a library through “411”. What would be the advantage of being exclusive with so many other sites?
