By ‘virtual assistant’ do you mean a real person? I’ve hired someone to do that through Freelancer before.

We all know cream rises to the top – I guess we don’t know that we’re cream until we do…Who now actually pays the $600,000 damages?
I personally have taken a punt on the odd new library. When you’re just starting out it’s hard to get your foot in the door with some of the big boys, especially if you don’t have any existing credits to point to. I’ll occasionally do an album of exclusive music for a new library if I get a ‘good feeling’ about them. This has worked out to be quite lucrative in some instances, and a complete waste of time in others!

I am a member of the PRS and they seem like an archaic organisation with an indifference which comes from decades of having the monopoly on collection in the UK. You can never get hold of a phone number to speak to anybody and they take weeks to reply to emails – in fact sometimes they don’t reply at all.
When you log in to their site to ‘your account’ there is literally nothing to see regarding your own placements and cuesheets etc.
Maybe you guys are lucky in the states to have both ASCAP and BMI – at least there’s competition for your business.
