    Hi Michèle,

Of course, I am well aware of that I was just responding to Alan, who it seems missed that it was for a cover song.

Thank you Alan, would that be true for a cover song?

Which was the case with this situation before I bailed.

Thank you Mark, good idea – however it boils down to 2 options. Take the fee and never see a future split, or walk away.

I was wondering if my asking for a clause that means a split of income ‘IF’ the song version were to become successful was unreasonable???

The metrics can be high, and the percentage low, I just wanted to cover myself however unlikely.

I have worked on a few remixes that went on to be hugely popular, and never saw an additional penny past the original remix fee. Similar situation to cover off here.

Okay thanks. BMG is a good example.

Would the German arm not market to Germany, and the US to the US?

At least initially that might see more usage in one territory over another?

Thanks, but as time is limited I would prefer to have placed with a publisher if possible.

Thanks. I only mentioned Artlist as a recent webinar strongly recommended using it, but got you thanks.

Thank you Art, do you know which libraries might be interested in cover songs?

I feel like generally most will not be interested, but any info on spcific libraies would be much appreciated ??

Good question – because I should make it clear that I direct people to contact libraries and to work with me only if that does not work out.

You have to realise that the people I am thinking of work day jobs, and barely have time to make music. Their music sits on Spotify and receives minimal plays – but the quality is really good and if I can work with them for a cut to get in to publishers, why not?

Thanks guys – and Yeh I can see the long intro not being the best arrangement – I might look at making it a breakdown instead. cheers!
