Nothing to add except to express bafflement as to why anyone would allow a library to sell their music in this way.

Oy. Lay off my thread. No, it’s okay really. My idea didn’t fly.

If the author is unknown why aren’t the PROs collecting the royalties for ‘unknown author’ and distributing it pro rata to known authors? What right does the network have to keep the money? The whole idea is back-to-front. It incentivises poor reporting.

I should add that this was just my opinion and I didn’t mean to imply that I’m in the business. I just meant that if it was my video or film this is what would hold me back.

Very much enjoyed your music, Carles, which actually sounded like music. I know what you mean about the modern ‘epic’ sound. These days even cookery shows have this overblown generic ‘by the yard’ style of dramatic music going on, as if the rise of a souffle is a matter of life and death.

I’m not any kind of expert but I’d question your decision to avoid RF libraries. It may depend on what you mean by RF. Even on a quick visit to the lowly AJ I’ve heard some wonderful violin pieces and an album of Scriabin piano pieces. No idea if they make sales but I think there’s a lot of room for different styles in the general market.

Skeebo – If you’re on soundcloud you’re also on a load of filesharing sites. It’s the price you pay.

Nice piece – but the slightly uncertain timing and touch of the piano would stop me licensing it.This could probably be easily fixed.

Vanity. The role of Spotify is to make sure artists get no money or sales unless they’re signed to a shareholder.

I’m not qualified to comment on these as sync tracks as opposed to just music, but I like Busywork as a backing track. I wonder if you’d be up for sending me this track and letting me put some latin guitars on it. I could have some fun with it and you might get another version to submit. Just an informal thing to see how it comes out.

I’ve changed my mind about this and have taken down the track. As you were…

Bump. Simple question. Might a tune like this be of any use to anyone? It was designed as the raw materials for a piano/orchestra piece but it’ll a long time before I can use Kontact well enough to fake it. If not that’s fine. I was just wondering…

Right. Time to take my life in my hands.

I see that my question needs an example to make sense. I didn’t want to post recent work but here’s a tune I did as an experiment in sketching.

It could stand a big arrangement but Kontact does my head in and there’s no way I can fake a real orchestra convincingly. There’s three variations on the tune and an interlude. It’s a sketch that I won’t be able to develop without learning to use the technology better, but I wondered if someone else might like to take it on. Short tunes are easy but long ones less so, and I like this one a lot.
