It’s at 60% off now, and ends on August 29th at 11 AM (EST). That is, you must “join the group buy” by putting something in your cart (from the group buy page, not from the regular listing for the product) by then. You then have until Sept. 12 to complete your purchases (you can make more than one order until that deadline).

I am just a happy customer; I have no affiliation with the company.

I have always found JRR shop to be a reliable seller, and have gotten discount plugins from them with no problems on several occasions. It is true that the process is a little more complicated than, say, buying directly from the plugin maker, but it has always worked out just fine for me. With already low prices and often an additional discount in the cart or with a promo code, I have found it to be worth a few extra steps and sometimes an extra day or two (if I buy on the weekend) to save some money. I feel the same about AudioDeluxe and a few other discount plugin retailers as well.

Did you get your situation resolved, dpwaveheavy?

    Hi Dogged,

    You state:

“In many cases, the one-shots I’m using are of fairly distinctive and famous sounds. Listening to my tracks, anyone who’s well-versed in these genres will be able to spot and identify specific classic drum hits, chord stabs, vocal yelps, etc. ”

Since you are asking for advice, mine is that you should avoid using sounds that “anyone who’s well-versed in these genres will be able to spot and identify” unless you are very confident that they have been licensed properly. I guess an obvious exception would be if the sound in question is something like one TR-808 kick drum sample; the machine was made to be recorded.

It’s not worth the risk to include questionable sounds, in my opinion. You may be asking about what repercussions you might face for using them, or, conversely, how likely you are to avoid any repercussions, but, to me, the fact that you have flagged the sounds as identifiable and unreliably sourced means that on some level you already know that you should avoid using them. Michael Nickolas is not using the sax loop in question.

I’m not trying to criticize you; I’m just stating my opinion. I think it’s a good question and I’m glad that you asked it.

I occasionally deal with tendinitis. Everyone is different, but I found that the trackpad made things worse. The traditional mouse didn’t work for me either; the rotation of the wrist down to put my thumb in about the same horizontal plane as my other fingertips combined with another rotation moving my thumb towards the pinky side of my hand to use the traditional mouse caused me problems. The solution that I found was to use the 3M Vertical Mouse (the larger model for me; they come in two sizes). It has helped dramatically.

Someone sent me a link to the Swiftpoint Gesture Based Computer Mouse. It looks interesting, but I haven’t tried it yet, so I can’t recommend it. But, it might be something to look into as well.

Even better yet, can you post a summary of this in the page for that library?

Also, a question, does your contract with this library give them the rights to offer your music in blanket deals with no compensation for you?

    Hi Chuck,

If I understand correctly, if you wanted to know that, you would start a new thread (with an appropriate title) in the new “Music Library Questions” forum.

You can get to that forum from the menu of forums at the right side of the page, or by clicking the link at the top of this page (Home>Forums>Music Library Questions). From there, you’ll see the “Create New Topic in “Music Library Questions” portion of the page, where you can type in your title and question and click on “Submit.”

    Hi Erwin,

Sorry to hear about the “returned” licenses. It does seem unusual that they paid you before they had their payment in hand. I hope this works out for you in some way.

IMO, it would be good to add a summary of this episode (however it turns out) to the PA MLR page (I’m using the abbreviation for the library name).

    Joe
