if youre pitching for exclusive libraries your music shouldnt be public at all.
on soundcloud you can create private playlists, so only the recipient is able to listen to the playlist.
Im sure the other services offer a similiar feature.my best one yet, really happy about it.
USA was okay-ish, but Europe especially Germany & France were insane this time.
UK and Sweden really nice too.Im in my 6th year and getting closer to 6-figures, so hopefully Ill reach it next year 🙂
I believe tunesat is down for European detections since October, 14th.
You can upload your songs with a private function on Soundcloud.
Also you can create a private playlist with Soundcloud, so only the people you share the link with can access the music.
Once youve created the playlist, you need to click the “Share” button to get the proper link.
Im just mentioning this because many people just copy & paste the link from the browser bar which wont work.has anyone ever received performance royalties from China?
I only got some from Hong Kong and Taiwan, but never from China.so anyone seen royalties from the Magnolia Network in the meantime?
International payouts usually take longer than a year, sometimes it can be even two or three years.
and as a general rule, better change your mindset and dont follow single placements / waiting for their pay-out. more often that not youre getting disappointed, maybe its just pennies, or it can even be nothing at all if in that country that channel doesnt pay any performance royalties, or maybe they did some form of direct licensing. or sometimes they forget to file a cuesheet, you just never know.
Id only keep track of big placements, like long-running ads or network promos etc and check if they got paid out properly because those ones should generate bigger amounts.yeah as others have said tunesat can be quite spotty, additionaly lately they have some issues again (which seem to affect european channels only).
so dont rely too much on tunesat and rather use it as a “bonus” tool to catch some of your placements.oh and to your intial question: paid and unpaid accounts should pick up the exact same number of placements.
you can go to tunesat.com and click the channels button (next to the login) to see which countries and channels are being tracked.

so far Ive only seen (actually very nice) royalties from SportsNet LA.Just wanted to check in if anybody had seen any royalties for YES placements in the meantime?
Overall really good, couple points that were interesting to me.
– Had some tiny payments from CBS, 25 seconds each for 1.74$ and 2.97$
– Had some higher than expected payments on Bally Sports, Sportsnet, Tennis Channel and Netflix
– Received for the first time payments from Canada, looks like the NBC shows pay quite well there too compared to my ABC ones.regarding univision – had the following with BMI in my last statement:
0:14 for 7.67$
1:17 for 34.34$
3:02 for 213.34$
