  1. I just got a mail stating that they are going to shutdown.

To quote the important part from their mail:
“We are sad to anounce that the Rhapsidee Music website will be closing down permanently, mainly due to financial reasons. We have tried to sell the website to potential buyers as well, but to no avail. If you know of anyone who might be interested in buying the site from us, please let us know. The offer is open until the 10th of June.”

Pitty, they looked promising and they where nice to work with.

  2. Anyone have any recent experiences here? They seem like nice folks to deal with. I signed on but am waiting for them to give me the green light to start sending music.

    • the site is under maintenance (it must be 2 weeks now). They’re good guys to work with, they responded to all of my emails. It’s quite new site though and i think it will take them some time to get everything right. They don’t accept everything (25% of my stuff was rejected),which is a good thing i guess.

      • Cool. Thanks! Yeah, I always feel better when the library cares about they’re selling, even of it means they turn away some of my tracks.

  3. submitted 50 tracks and 35 of them were accepted. From those that weren’t accepted, most of them were from my earlier works(although 2-3 of them were placed in TV Shows).I like their attitude, this is actually good feedback, now i know what is more likely to be licensed and what is not. They seem promising (+ when i send them an email i had an immediate respones, that’s always appreciated!).

    • How long did it take to hear from them? I submitted the 3 mp3’s but only a few days ago. Waiting to hear back. I need another decent library to get into since one of my others is going exclusive only.

      • They have been moving offices and have been a bit slower in working through all submissions as they notified us via email. I remember when I submitted music they got back to me in about a week or so, maybe it can be a bit longer because they are catching up, but they are quite good in their workaround in my opinion.

        • Pat,as jaapvisser said,i got an email from them telling me they’re done with the offices moving.I submitted 2 new tracks in Thursday and today they were already approved.I’m sure you’ll get an answer very soon.If not, contact them, they’re fast in responding back.

        • Thanks jaapvisser. At least it doesn’t like it would be months.By the way, can you go ahead and change your name to something I cant type? You name is one of those that gets my lousy typing fingers all bunched up.(just kidding) 🙂

          • haha 🙂 well Jaap is also working for me, maybe report my name to Art for being annoying to type 😀 maybe he forces a name change 😉

On topic: for sure it doesn’t take months. My latest files have been reviewed nice and quick and it looks to me that is ran by some hard working people. Good luck man!

      • Just wondering, I haven’t head about my three initial mp3 submissions yet but if are rejected, how soon can I resubmit? Maybe I just picked the wrong “best” songs.

  4. It is a fairly new library. I submitted some music for review and got accepted as composer. I uploaded a bunch of stuff and they where very picky in what they accepted and what not. I actually liked that a lot allthough 70% of what I uploaded was rejected, but feedback was provided, mostly because they did not see a licensing potential for it with their clients.

Submitting, tagging etc is smooth. It is not a high tech site, but it does it’s job well and I see they promote new tracks in a nice way on facebook and twitter and I get the feeling that they do care about their composers.

My music just went online tonight and my profile is not updated there, so can’t comment yet on any sales/traffic but I will update.
I am curious to see how it works out.

    • Hello,

Thank you Jaap for the kind words.

Jaap is correct, we are very picky about the music we accept for this one reason: we strive to provide potential clients ONLY with the BEST of the best music. That is part of who we are as a company.

You are right in that we do care about our composers, that is why we decided to provide comments/suggestions with our feedback. Most libraries won’t take the time to do this, and this does take a lot more time considering the amount of submissions we receive. In many cases composers have used our suggestions to improve tracks and have had some approvals after previous declines. We are not just here to make money, but to provide an opportunity for composers to grow and improve on their compositions and production quality.

Concerning sales/traffic, as Jaap mentioned we are a very new library. Currently we are very focused on finding new composers and building our catalogue to a level where we can proceed with more aggressive marketing.

      Regards

      • It is a few weeks later and my profile is active for some time and as well much more tracks online.

Due to the feedback and seeing what tracks are accepted and what not I began to “feel” like which of my tracks should be suited and after that the opposite happend and 70% of my tracks are now accepted.

I checked some of my reports and no sales, but the traffic is not too bad I think for a new library.

It is nice to get swift feedback and answers on any questions or issues and that makes working with them a pleasure to be honest.

  5. I just checked out the site. They have good stuff.

But be careful: Songs can be downloaded directly from the site by right-clicking and saving the target! They do have a vocal tag though.

    • Hello Desire_Inspires,

Just to clarify regarding the fact that tracks can be downloaded by right-clicking. This is the case, but is only in mp3 format and with an audio watermark in the background. This is solely for testing purposes so potential clients can test it with their production before purchase. Other established libraries do the same to cater for clients who would like to test before buying.

      Regards
