Hi all,
I’m wondering how ASCAP monitors reruns of shows. On their site, it says that cue sheets do not have to be re-submitted for each airing and that they monitor tv schedules for reruns.
But, my question is this, if the production company doesn’t file a cue sheet for an original broadcast (say for a Lifetime movie that airs multiple times in quick succession after its premiere, or a cable show that is ten episodes long that airs a lot during that run) until after the reruns have aired, how does ASCAP capture those performances?
Is there any easy-ish way to find airdates for all previous airings of a cable tv show? I haven’t found one yet.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks!
