BMI- Registering New Works

Hi,

I’m just wondering if anybody else has been waiting forever for an online work, through BMI, to be registered. I’ve been waiting almost 2 months now. I have some commercial jingle forms to fill out and I can’t because BMI hasn’t registered them yet.

I have a lot of tunes registered with BMI, including recently, and I don’t recall ever having to wait that long. Less than a week is typical.

Yup. I’ve been waiting several weeks now for my recent production music albums to appear on BMI. In the past it appeared much quicker.

It’s all sorted now, thanks everyone. I actually (sigh) had to call and talk to a real person. They were extremely nice and supportive and even followed up with me via email. So if anyone ever has a problem with BMI, just call them.

In my situation, the tracks (2 advertising spots of 30 seconds each) were submitted for registration in early October, the advertising video was released on television in October – November. The tracks are still “hanging” in pending. At the same time, new tracks that were not placed in advertising but were simply released by me in October / November / December 2024 were registered within 1 week. I wrote to support – a month ago – silence.
