cd identifier with BMI??

Anyone registering works with BMI notice that on the option for production library’s they are asking for a CD identifier?  I never worked with  cd identifier- Google says it is “the real manufacturer of a cd”. Why would they want this? Anyone work with cd identifiers?

Googled: CD-R Identifier is a very handy tool which is able to read the ATIP (or Pre-Groove) from any CD-R. The ATIP is used to store important characteristics of the CD-R itself (like Nominal Capacity, Disc Manufacturer & Used Dye-type). Ha, ha… now I know as much as I did before I Googled.
