Hi, I’m a first time poster here. Thanks for a great website Art.
I recently discovered via Tunesat that my music was featured on an MTV show called The Hills. The episode aired way back in 2007 and is now repeating internationally. I’m sure it aired dozens of times on MTV.
I checked my BMI statements dating back to 1st Quarter 2009 and it’s nowhere to be found. I do realize that 2007 is a long time ago but I’d like to get paid what is owed to me. The weird thing is that MTV filled out cue sheets for other shows during that same time period. I guess this one somehow slipped through the cracks.
Any suggestions on how to go about handling this? Thanks.
You may not have been on the cue sheet (it happens) or the show never filed a cue sheet. If you know that library placed it contact them as they may be able to help, also contact BMI Film and TV dept. You will have to be persistent but be pleasant!
