I got an email today through Music Reports, but written by Iain Morris from Pandora. It basically says they’re changing their licensing to a new platform called MLC, and that we should terminate the agreement in Music Reports and agree to the one in MLC.
Is anyone familiar with this? I smell lower royalties under the MLC deal, but can’t be sure.
I’ve included the text from the email below

Dear Publisher,Reference is hereby made to the License Agreement between you, on one hand, and Pandora Media, LLC, successor in interest to Pandora Media, Inc. and Pandora Media California, LLC, collectively, “Pandora,” or “we” on the other hand, the “Agreement”.
As a result of recent changes to United States copyright law, a new compulsory blanket mechanical license will be available from the Mechanical Licensing Collective, Inc. (“MLC”) beginning January 1, 2021 (the “Blanket License”).
Pandora intends to make use of this new Blanket License after January 1, 2021 to license the mechanical rights in your repertoire and account to you through the MLC, rather than pursuant to the Agreement.
Click HERE to log into your MusicReports.com account and terminate the Agreement.
BY CLICKING THE “ACCEPT” BUTTON ON THE PAGE LINKED ABOVE, YOU AGREE THAT: (i) EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2021, PANDORA’S USE OF THE MLC BLANKET LICENSE SHALL SUPERSEDE AND TERMINATE ANY PRIOR AGREEMENTS WITH RESPECT TO THE SAME SUBJECT MATTER BETWEEN YOU AND PANDORA REGARDING ANY MECHANICAL LICENSES WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED BY PANDORA TO EXPLOIT MUSIC PUBLISHING REPERTOIRE OWNED OR CONTROLLED OR ADMINISTERED IN WHOLE OR IN PART, BY YOU AND (ii) YOUR ELIGIBILITY TO RECEIVE ROYALTIES VIA THE MLC REPRESENTS GOOD AND VALUABLE CONSIDERATION TO TERMINATE ANY AND ALL SUCH PRIOR AGREEMENTS. YOU MAY ALSO BE SUBJECT TO ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS THAT MAY APPLY WHEN YOU USE THE SERVICES OF THE MLC. IF ANY PART OF THIS NOTICE AND TERMINATION IS HELD INVALID OR UNENFORCEABLE, THAT PORTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH APPLICABLE LAW TO REFLECT, AS NEARLY AS POSSIBLE, THE ORIGINAL INTENTIONS OF THE PARTIES, AND THE REMAINING PORTIONS SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. PANDORA’S FAILURE TO ENFORCE ANY RIGHT OR PROVISIONS OF THIS NOTICE AND TERMINATION WILL NOT CONSTITUTE A WAIVER OF SUCH OR ANY OTHER PROVISION.
We encourage you to become a “Member” of the MLC, which is free, before January 1, 2021, in order for you to get paid via the MLC. You can sign up to get paid here: https://www.themlc.com/membership.
We thank you for your business and your support of the Music Modernization Act. Please visit the MLC’s FAQ at https://www.themlc.com/frequently-asked-questions for help with questions and guidance.
Best regards,
Iain Morris
