Looking for recommendations on a new audio interface. I’m running windows 7 64 bit. I only need two inputs (ones that can take either xlr or 1/4″inputs.

Needs to be stable. I’m tired of fighting with my audiofire 4.

I’m also a big fan of MOTU interfaces, like the Ultralite I have, but that sounds a bit robust for what you need.

Check into the line of Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Great sound and only $149.

Try out the Steinberg UR28M, very clean sound. Great convertors at a reasonable price

Presonus Audiobox is good value for money. Sounds pretty good.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Funny thing. I ended up trying the asio4all driver and it works great, at least in my daw. No more underruns, plus another side benefit.

I always had a problem with my timing when using the audifire audio driver. Any midi notes I triggered manually or guitar audio recorded always seemed to be on tick box fast in my daw. I always assumed I just had crappy timing. Now that I’m using asio4all, my timing is right where it should be…

Win7 audio performance still bites though, since I don’t know a way to use asio4all as the standard windows driver.
