Need a very simple score program

Hello. An elderly friend of mine can write music and is looking for a score program. She is a little tech savvy but not sequencer savvy. (I am a logic user and know that it would be an endless nightmare trying to explain that program over the phone) She needs to be able to draw notes on a score (not necessarily multiple instruments- just “piano”), have the computer play it (no midi devices required) and print the score. No audio, no plug-ins, no loops, no environment windows. There used to be many consumer programs like this- Is there one you can recommend? (Mac please) Thanks!

Check out MuseScore  (musescore.org).  It’s a free program and it appears to do everything you’re looking for.  I’ve downloaded it myself but haven’t yet tried it out.
