Dobro tuning is typically GBDGBD….try a typical slide guitar tuning instead – DGDGBD

Ah..I should have said I tuned it to an open G Major chord. I had tuned it like you mentioned because I didn’t want to tune-up the Yamaha’s 6th string to G! 🙂

I had never heard of an conversion/extension nut – pretty cool. Now all I need is a way to play the harmonica like a guitar. Maybe it’s time to look at the Fishman pickup.

For midi guitar, you should try this. http://jamorigin.com I’ve had both Roland and Axon setups, with dedicated 13pin in the guitar. I tried Jamorigin and sold everything I had.
