Royalties for Comedy Central Promos

Just wondering… Has anyone here ever received royalty payments for promos on Comedy Central?

None for me. Got me to thinking so I checked BMI’s site. They don’t mention CC but I e-mailed Jackie Simmons, who is the contact for promos at BMI, and asked her if they ever would. Her e-mail jsimmons [at] bmi [dot] com.

Isn’t it criminal that for some stations, our music can be used freely without any upfront fees and without even giving us the opportunity to collect backend? What’s the point in writing music for TV then? Hmmm… Just a thought…

I have an open ticket with ascap for comedy central’s use of one my cues for the 2012 comedy awards.

I submitted this inquiry at the end of June and it’s still being reviewed.

It seems that Comedy Central has a bit of a problem with payouts.  I’ve had music used on The Colbert Report and on Tosh.0.  I’ve gotten paid for Colbert but haven’t received anything for Tosh.0
