Hey guys, I’m planning on submitting to some more exclusive libraries soon. I was wondering if it is better to submit several of the same style, or a group of different styles to show versatility.

    Hey RM,

It depends on a few things. How apt are you at multiple genres? If you are great at EDM but so so at Orchestral Tension, you should just write what you are best at . If you are able to write multiple genres, it’s great to show a diversity in writing style.

On important thing to note. Have you researched the library and what genre most of their placements are? There is a big difference between Dramady cues and Corporate, etc.

Go with “Your Wheelhouse!!” Right now, to get onboard with the top companies “You’re gonna have to FLOOR them, or have a great Rep.”

You will always be able to submit more variety once you are in, and working.

I’m currently sitting on a handful of unreleased tracks to submit to an exclusive library. They are all happy tropical ukulele, anyone have any recommendations as to a library that would be a good fit for that style?

I see this ‘what library is good for this style’ often, I’m honestly a bit baffled by it.

Most libraries covers just about every style known to man.
Sure, there’s trailer libraries and some boutique libraries have only music of a certain theme (drama and documentaries for example), but most libraries that have 50+ albums seems to cover most things.

I’ve certainly never seen a library that specialises in happy tropical ukulele. I’ve seen many that covers that style though.
