Titles – PRO – Libraries

I’m submitting songs to a library that requires that they be registered with my PRO prior to submission.

I curious about titles- some composers use different titles on different libraries to cut down on comparison shopping and I thought I’d do the same. My internal titles are numeric (year+ID number) which, obviously, won’t work on music libraries.

How do y’all handle titles? Do you submit multiple alternate titles to your PRO?

I have tracks submitted to a few non-ex libraries and I’m about to start submitting to a new one. The new library appears to contain tracks that are titled descriptively, whereas the tracks I’ll be uploading have more fanciful titles. Do most people think it’s OK to just change their names? Do I have to submit these alternate titles to my PRO?

Also, if you have a lot of alternate titles and you are with BMI you can upload with a spreadsheet.
