    Hubby was taking a booking for a live gig recently, the bar manager asked him to knock the price down, his response… If we were plumbers would you ask me the same question, I take your point she said and paid the band their full fee!

    I ran across this video the other day. I recommend you watch it. It was originally aimed at graphic designers, but I believe that 95% of this applies to people in the music business. It is a video on Vimeo called “F*ck you.Pay me.”. Mike Monteiro of Mule Design speaks on why you shouldn’t work for free, the excuses that his industry makes and contracts (his lawyer speaks on the subject as well.)
