ThemusicmanParticipant
Well, I am talking about the next week.
Usually it’s from Christmas and until about the 2nd week of January.ThemusicmanParticipantKey? String Ostinatos? Who needs this?!
Here is a much easier formula:
Obscure ambience.
Big Drums
Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! (Ultra low single note, preferably with some distorted synth).Done.
ThemusicmanParticipantThank you. I know about the profiles.
However, they are not always accurate. Also, there are many profiles where it says “unknown”.
Just trying to see if people can share some extra or more concrete info.ThemusicmanParticipantGreat!!
Just sent you a message.ThemusicmanParticipantThanks so much for the kind words, Mark!
I checked out your music (on the website) and it really means
A LOT to hear this from someone of your caliber!Obviously (or maybe not?), writing library music is not my
dream. It is just a way to make an income, while I can develop
the general film/media scoring and other artistic sides of my musical activities.Would you mind if I get in touch and we could chat directly?
It would be immensely helpful to get your insight regarding these things and I would really appreciate it.Also, I feel a bit uncomfortable discussing these topics in a public forum. You never know who is watching/reading…
ThemusicmanParticipantThanks Mark!
I appreciate the feedback.
I was writing for an upfront fee.
Work for hire or in other words:
“I get my money and run” 🙂I prefer this model since I get a sum of money and don’t need to worry whether the tracks will sell or not.
The downside is that since I split the fee 50/50 with what the composer gets from the library..it is way too much work for not enough money, which is why I am looking to work with libraries with no middle man…but I am trying to find the ones that give a reasonable upfront fee, which in my mind is $500 and up. -
