From my perspective in USA TV markets Extreme, Killer Tracks, Firstcomm, Chappel (UMG), and Jingle Punks do the best job for TV syncs. Good luck to any new writer getting in and also good luck to existing writers because now as JP has matured, the emphasis is on in house tracks. In house, exclusive tracks will always get the most presentations to their clients. Study cue sheets and that tells the story.
Based on that comment, do you think it is still viable to be exclusive with JP and not be an in house person? I started with them years ago, and the royalties were pretty good. I liked the idea that I didn’t have to do my own marketing. Due to my “real” job I didn’t do submissions for a long time and my BMI checks have gone down a lot. Have just started submissions again within the last six months – too soon to see it on my checks. Just wondering if its worth my while if I am not “on the inside” so to speak.
