Thanks, Musicworks! On another note, since you mention Art, I gotta say that Art is the friggin man! For putting together this bad a** website for people like us to keep progressing in the music business and for his contributions throughout (oh, and for his awesome music)! No, he ain’t paying me to say this. I just want to get more in the habit of showing gratitude. Gotta give credit where it’s due.

Thanks for your reply, John! I didn’t think of that – reaching out directly to the publisher(s) for the song in question to see if there’s any interest on their part. I think that’ll be my next step.

P.S. If it’s not legit to reply with specific company/library names here, fee free to direct message me. Much appreciated.

    Michael,

Thanks for taking the time to listen and send me feedback.

I’ve also noticed a preference among music libraries for uptempo cues. They tend to catch the listener’s attention more quickly than downtempo cues and don’t demand as much prolonged concentration. I certainly don’t mean to say that writing uptempo instrumentals is easier than writing slower pieces. In fact, I incline towards writing slow to midtempo reflective pieces and find it quite difficult to play faster musical compositions.

As for the hissing sound in the first third of Heartbeats, I intentionally placed that pseudo-gramophone sound effect there. It fades out as the central part of the cue begins. My wife didn’t care for that sound effect; she found it distracting.

    Thanks again for your reply.
