  • Yeah I definitely subscribe to the face to face networking idea alongside online networking as well, can’t go wrong to utilize both 😉

    Speaking of meeting some of the faces of these big music libraries, any of you guys headed to the NAB in Vegas for the Annual PMA meeting on April 13th? The room rates through NAB’s website are definitely a big discount combined with shuttle rides BUT I’m still too short on funds to make the trip.

    If anyone has any leads on a super cheap room(that is close to the event of course or it’s pointless with taxi costs) let me know. I am open to sharing a room if it comes down to not missing this opportunity to network.

    Or maybe someone has a discount code for the NAB registration pass? ($150) normally.

    @studio51 Dave thank you for the insight, definitely helpful! I’m excited to go to the next LA based meeting, though I haven’t heard when the next one will be or how frequent they are. As I’m in San Diego and go up to LA already a couple times a week so I’m dying to attend those.

    Would be great to cross paths with you as well at NAB.

    If there’s a group of MLR attendees at NAB that want to meet and greet during the expo I’m definitely down to talk shop and put some names to faces.

    Anyone feel free to PM me that’s going to be out there. I’ll be there the 13th and 14th(Mon-Tues).

    @Musicmatters I just registered earlier for the NAB Show next month that you mentioned. I’m going to most likely be there from April 13-15th but haven’t booked a hotel just yet in case you or any other MLR members had any interest in sharing cost on a room.

    I was thinking MGM as it’s $130 a night NAB show rate and has shuttles and badge pickup at the hotel as well. I’ve stayed there many many times and it’s best bang for your buck IMO.

    Anyone else considering going I just found this guest pass code that comp’d the exhibits only cost of $150! “LV5627” You just apply it upon registration on NAB’s site.

    Cool thank you guys for the advice and input. I’ll submit a CD by mail for 5 Alarm and call as well.

    Yeah I live in San Diego and I’m up in LA a couple times a week so I’m getting ready to attend the next PMA meeting and have also attended the ASCAP Expo a year ago and plan to do a day pass this time around for this year. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to connect @Desire_Inspires!

    Yeah no doubt, a few years later I’m finding that a recurring theme lol.

    It looks as though Imagem points back to 5 Alarm Music. But I did find a contact on their actual UK site for submissions so I’m going to go that route since 5 Alarm’s seems to be a gray area for submissions by snail mail and their submissions phone extension is no longer valid.

    Thanks Tbone!

    @Tbone

    Thanks for the quick reply, I actually tried that exact thing and got frustrated after about 5 libraries deep from APM’s listing to find no contact info and somewhat outdated interfaces and minimal activity on social media, news, and so forth. Almost making me wonder if half of them are even still in business? It’s so hard to tell haha.
