Instrumental for now, have plans for SFX later this year. We specifically need guitar based music, across all genres.

We are moving away from a non-exclusive model and are willing to pay for music upfront. This is in addition to the 50% share of sales and licenses composers will get, before any sales we put on the music.

We're different from most royalty free libraries in that we hand pick each track. We want to make sure the catalog is full of only great music, which will be good for our composers and customers.

    • Hey Vlad, Mark here. The site as it exists today is pretty much a long lived ‘beta’ version of what I wanted it to be. Sales were great, then not, but I think I learned a ton from the experience and am now in the process of spending considerable time and money re-booting the whole enterprise from the ground up.

Hopefully by the fall I’ll have a brand new site that, amongst other cool features, pays the composers the moment a track is sold. So around then I’ll be looking for new music – probably just exclusively (involving a token upfront fee and a 50/50 split).

      • Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for the reply. And the honesty. I will indeed be contacting you closer to the fall with some tracks prepared. And I do have more questions regarding content you might want, but will contact you at your site over the summer. Thanks again!

    • Hi Alan, Mark here – owner of RoyaltyFreeKings.com. The site is so new that I am only just sending out the first payments to the composers. This payment is for March and Q2, and about half of our composers are getting over $100 each, one is getting over $500. It’s not a lot, but the sales are definitely picking up, as is the traffic.
      Regards,
      Mark

  1. Just a bit confused. It says they’re moving away from non-exclusive but the description says exclusive/non exclusive.
Can I submit it for non exclusive or no? Not looking for exclusive deals right now.Anybody?
    Thanks

    • Hi Pat! I really want to move to an exclusive model, but if there are tracks that a composer submits to me, and I don’t have anything else like them, then I’d definitely consider taking them non-exclusively.

As we’ll be paying upfront for tracks to be exclusive, we’re going to be a little picky about quality.. we’re aiming to be known as the premium quality royalty free library.

      Regards,

      Mark

      • Thanks Mark for the response. I went ahead and sent a link anyway. Hopefully, if you get a chance to listen, you’ll find something you might want to take on. If not, no problem and good luck to you.
        Pat
