Does anyone that had music with S3 know what happened with them?
I have a small number of cues that were in their library for a short time, no placements.
I would like to at least know what’s going on, maybe they sold the catalog?
If any of the former S3 owners would be kind enough to update us it would be greatly appreciated.
Bump…anyone know? ๐
Looks like their web site is dead.
Yes, I have been trying to get in touch with them with no response.
If they sold the catalog maybe that’s a good thing but at least an email would have been nice.
Maybe I’m asking too much, IDK.
I have a few cues with S3 (no placements). I emailed them back in February because I noticed their website was not functioning properly. They finally got back to me and said: “We are in the process of hopefully selling the library to another entity with a further reach, so that could be great for the composers. We’ll keep everyone posted!” This answer was from Adam Sanborne at S3.
Now that their website is gone altogether, I have no idea what has happened and where the library might have gone. Maybe the new entity they mention will let the composers know? I don’t know. I haven’t received any email or news. Nothing. I don’t think it’s asking too much to be kept informed.
Tracks are yours again, they folded the library. Adam can confirm it with you.
Submitted 3 songs 3 years ago and they are still awaiting review. So I can’t submit any more.
You mean these guys does not operate with any kind of reversion of your music, if they don’t deliver results in 2-3-5 years?
Their submission process is exactly like the one at Crucial Music. I wonder if these guys are partners or ex-partners now turned bitter rivals.
No nothing to do with each other.
How do you know? Do you work for either company?
Contribute music to S3, and know them well.
Youre signed to them in perpetuity according to the list above. Is that the case, Mike?
Yes… not something you want to enter into lightly, that’s for sure. These guys get some good placements and boost my royalties check, but the tracks are locked into their library forever, which is a bit of a bummer.
Thanks for getting back to me Mike.
