      • You guys have it right – around August I was hit with three major gigs. Since then, my career has exploded (in a good way). I’m doing more travel in Q1 2011 than I’ve ever done in my life, all business. So, this has left me minimal time to actively promote ZT (though of course I’m still paying all the bills to keep everything up.) We’ve had placements but not nearly as many as I’d like.

I do apologize that I haven’t been able to market our ~500 tracks as much as they deserve (and hey, mine are part of those, so I’m not getting marketed either!) However my top 2011 resolution was to secure administrative assistance that will allow me to scale our growth; adding a constant number of tracks per month, promoting/advertising, market research, and continued relationship building with music supervisors, filmmakers, game developers, and so on.

  1. Hi all, just wanted to let you know we are definitely still looking for submissions – in particular, I need tracks that would fit HGTV, DIY, Food Network, etc. So, light acoustic/light electronic blends with a “feel-good” or “can-do” mood, catwalk dance music (fashionable, not heavy), light instrumental hip hop. No metal, no dramatic orchestra, no vocals, nothing dark.

      • We don’t have any kind of arrangement with Scripps and rest-assured won’t enter into any agreements that are unfavorable for composers. I founded ZirconTrax because I was sick of bad deals at other libraries – that’s why the composer gets 75% of sync here and 100% of PRO backend, plus it’s completely non-exclusive. I can confidently say there is no better deal anywhere 🙂

        • HGTV, DIY and Food Network are all scripps networks though. Can you clarify if you’re looking for cues to place on shows for said channels, or just for cues that sound like they’d fit the shows on those channels…

          • Cues that sound like they would belong on those channels. There are a lot of cable shows on many networks that use similar styles of music, but my wife loves HGTV so that’s the reference I know best! 😉 Like I said, we don’t have any arrangement with Scripps. At the moment I’m just expanding the ZT catalog evenly in a wide spread of genres.
