Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it.
Off to the pawn shop (or whatever replaced Sam Ash).
All the best,
Buddy
Hello Mr. Munson,
Hope all is well, and I hope you might be able to answer a question I have.
What make/model banjo (or other instrument?) was it that you used on “Rainbow Connection”? I can’t play a thing on anything but I want to learn how to play this song and invite (almost) anyone to sing the song as I accompany them if they’d like.
I’ve asked Frank Oz (ran into him in midtown Manhattan) and he didn’t know, and a friend was able to ask Paul Williams in an online conversation, and while he didn’t know either it was Mr. Williams that said it was you who performed it. And this is how I discovered musiclibraryreport.com.
I hope that you’ll be able to assist me. Looking forward to having some friends sing it by the time by birthday rolls back around late this coming summer.
Thank you for your music.
Hi Buddy,
No particular make of banjo. When I got the call, that I needed a banjo for that song, I didn’t have one. I went down to a pawn shop and rented a 5 string banjo. I took off the 5th string (high G) and tuned the other 4 the same as the top 4 strings of a guitar.
Have a great birthday!
Art
Awesome interview. I thought the HFA did admin on neighbouring rights, sub-publishing.
Not that I know of.
I really enjoyed your session with Art Munson. I am also a, ‘seasoned’ musician/songwriter.
Thanks
