Which option do UK libraries offer a sync fee or upfront most of the time if they do their licensing through PRS.

The library works along side 5alarm. I’m not sure if that means anything though.

    Any experience?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be either. A lot of UK libraries are back end only. Have you tried asking the library you are referring to or have you found them listed here?

I have not asked them yet or found the library listed. Sent them some tracks and they said to submit more, which I did. What next, if they want to go further a contract or more questions?

Also sync fees or upfront deal if you or anonther composer is reading this.

I think maxpower answered that already. Usually you keep 100% of writer’s share and 50% of sync fees. And some of the big libraries might offer you some upfront fees too. But not all libraries have the same contract terms. Ask the library to send you a copy of their agreement.

I heard there was no sync fees / mech fees with WOM (west one music) is that a standard behavior in UK?

Is sync fees the same as mechanical fees (sorry it’s a different term in my country hence my confusion when reading that WOM contract )

Having no sync fees seem like crazy, as it’s not indicated on the contract I’m getting confused.

How are you supposed to make a living if you have music used in a web trailer / commercials if you are not given any sync fees ?

Got a email about thier contracts 50/50 on the backend no mention of sync or upfront. Are they testing?

    It’s a lame move.

How are you supposed to make a living on web syncs/ commercials / YouTube / Netflix or such things that generate next to nothing as back end ?

I’m not sure. One thing I do know is that they get lots of placements. Maybe No upfront or sync but plenty of placements is a good deal? Also saw a blanket deal option on the site.
