ENW1Participant
Love my Sennheiser HD 650’s. If it sounds good on them & my Focal Twins, there’s a good chance the mix is a success. Of course, the car & the living room stereos are still mandatory references.
ENW1ParticipantI was joking.
ENW1ParticipantNice blend of East & West.

Funny you should mention that. I was just working on my billing. I always seem to be behind ๐

They’re a major music publisher. The cut is much worse than 50/50. It makes library work look more attractive.
ENW1ParticipantDefinitely, cutting the lows in a mix (especially with bass) helps a lot. Solo stuff I don’t cut the lows as drastically. Depends on the instrument & mic. I do a lot of nylon string guitar. It’s different from steel string.
The UAD Ocean Way Studios Plug-In can sometimes be nice to supply a desirable room sound.
ENW1ParticipantLet me know when you figure it out ๐
ENW1ParticipantSAIL AWAY Guitar is my instrument. Acoustic is still always a challenge. The guitar, room, mic, preamp, compressor/limiter, reverb, & EQ are all key. Real Traps in the corners. Foam on the walls. Enough to damp the room without totally killing it. Small diaphragm condenser mic where the neck & body join. Definitely avoid the sound hole. I select reverbs for the color they add. In my experience, each recording is different. No matter what I do, I will still fight with the EQ & Verb in the mix to get the desired sound. Frequently some unexpected plugin will do the trick. I never know until it’s done.
ENW1ParticipantMy sympathies. Been there myself. Tried everything: Doctors, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Reiki, etc. The very best regime came from a hand & upper extremity physical therapist. Basically, it’s 1.Heat 2.Massage 3.Stretch. 4.Therapeutic Exercises. 5.Stretch (again) 6.Ice (if there is inflammation).
The therapist cautioned the exercises can worsen the problem if you’re not careful. Go see a good hand & upper extremity therapist. I was pleased with the suggestions they gave me. It helped a lot.
Remember: Tendonitis & the associated problems are an injury. There is no magic potion. It takes time to heal.
Most Important: I do stretches (hand & arms) all the time. It helps tremendously.
Get well.
ENW1ParticipantSo glad I joined this site. Wasn’t aware of Indiginus Acoustic Guitar Collection. Been using it the last 2 hours. Very pleased. Thanks.
ENW1ParticipantThanks Michael.
It goes on my list. One (or more) of these leads will be fruitful. Thanks again.ENW1ParticipantThanks Art. Very helpful. I’ll check them out. I’m not in the union. Dumped the union a long time ago. In my region, they needed me more than I needed them ๐
ENW1ParticipantThanks Art.
I’ll give their site a look. I’m looking more for insurance to cover loss of the equipment. Liability is not as big a concern.
ENW1ParticipantForgive me Art but I laughed when I saw this. My ears are still pretty good but I have to use a magnifying glass to see the little numbers in my plugins. If it ain’t one thing it’s another ๐
