JoshMParticipant
I’m ultimately not sure if Theme does pay a higher rate. It sure seems like it, though. Because that’s always the highest paying line item on my royalty statements.
As far as a fix, I believe I asked the production company to fix the cue sheet and then they resubmitted. But, I think that only helps for future uses, and not retroactively. But I could be wrong.
Hope this helps!
JoshMParticipantAwesome! Thanks for your advice.
JoshMParticipantActually, for this theme there was no library involved.
It’s a co-write and I own half the publishing along with the other writer.
JoshMParticipantI’ve got a piece of music that will be used as the theme in an upcoming tv show. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t sign up for Identifyy and register that track? Will the network get a copyright notice or anything if they put it on their YouTube? Any downsides? Thanks!!!
JoshMParticipantCool thanks! I asked a question in the general forum but no replys.
JoshMParticipantThanks for all the help! One other quick question, without derailing this thread too much. Would you also sign up to Identifyy in case these shows are put on YouTube and stuff?
JoshMParticipantGood to know. I really appreciate your help!
JoshMParticipantThanks for the reply. I’ll try and reach out to the production company and BMI this week.
On a related note, I’ve heard it’s better to contact the BMI Los Angeles office for TV stuff. I usually call the Nashville office since it’s the closets, but it seems like they never get back t me or take forever. Do you have any experience with this?
JoshMParticipantThanks Art! I’ve definitely been looking into Soundmouse. Are there any downsides or reasons not to put your music in there? Have you found it helpful?
JoshMParticipantAwesome! Thanks so much for your help. That’s what I was thinking but just wanted to get some other opinions.
Have you signed up for Soundmouse or anything like that?
