If you read the posts a bit more carefully DI it states that higher quality composers are considering and joining RF libraries.
I don’t think it said anywhere that “everyone is flooding into the RF market”.

I receive about 60 composer submissions a month and I would have to agree with MichaelL that the quality of the submissions is much higher than it used to be just a couple of years ago.

Most composers price themselves too low. In my limited experience, I have not seen sales falling by raising prices.

From my experience I would agree with this statement as well. Prices on our site have only gone up in general, no race to the bottom on ML that I can see.

From what I am seeing I think MichelL’s observations are valid.
More and more high quality composers coming down to the RF trenches and realizing it is not as a bad as they have been led to believe.

That’s good news Art. Thanks for letting me know.

Also, thanks for the offer on the S3 feature, that’s cool.
I think the implementation I asked Guru to do won’t be too complicated though.
Before I was thinking it would be an entire transfer system to an S3 bucket like we have on ML, that would have been expensive 🙂

Art, I talked to my programmer and I think we can make the csv importer compliant with AWS URLs as well. The expensive version would have been to create something that transfers to AWS but if you already have files there we can change the CSV importer so that you can simply add AWS URLs to the list instead of filenames on your server.

To install the CSV importer you
    1. download the zip to your hard drive
    2. unzip the archive
    3. then upload those files via ftp into the directory where you installed the original software.
    4. These files will automatically replace existing ones and add the ones you need for the csv importer.
    5. Then go to the admin area and you will the new CSV importer section there.

I imagine pricing a track here for say

Sure, just wondering where “here” was, that´s all.

From my experience in Europe you can charge more than in the US and in Asia they price everything cheaper. That is just from my specific RF library experience.
You were not specific about exclusive deals or anything so it is a very broad question as you said.

Most companies that we have distribution deals with have fixed pricing, the composer cannot choose. Europe always pays more, Asia pays less, in my experience.

What is a foreign country to you?
We only have your name to go on to figure out what country you are based in so I would say… Ireland?

Hi Art, I posted the link to CSV importer just now in the Music Library Questions forum. I don’t see the post showing up so you might have to approve it.

In regards to security settings I have no idea.
You can post technical questions at http://www.musiclicensingsoftware.com/ and my programmer will help you with those.

Thanks for being the first composer to install our new software. Hope you like it.

Just so you can see what a default website looks like when installed here is our active test site.
    http://www.marktaitlewis.com/MLBETA4/
All of the songs you see there now have been uploaded with the CSV importer (which got working just now)

I’m using the ML logo as a placeholder on this site but everything else is what it will look like when you install it.
Afterwards you will have control over your own logo, text and link and BG colors, text, etc etc.

Ok, the Music Licensing Software basic install is ready.

You can download the free software install to create your fully functioning music licensing website on your own server here
    http://musiclicensingsoftware.com/

There is a public forum on that page as well for questions, suggestions and discussions.
I’ll create some basic installation directions shortly.
I will also make the CSV Importer add on available today hopefully, just doing some last minute tests on it.
We will be charging a small fee for that add on but I thought I would make CSV Importer free to all MLR subscribers in a separate thread if that’s ok with Art.

I hope you guys/gals like this basic install, I think it turned out pretty cool.
