The next logical step, perhaps an eventuality, will be AI software that will fulfill the musical needs of a film & TV producer.
I think there’s already a hint of that in the LASS “auto-arranger” script for divisi strings. Orange Tree is on the verge of something similar for all Kontakt instruments. In theory that will be a big help for people who don’t know how to arrange or orchestrate. But, if they don’t know what they don’t know, how will they know if what the program spits out is any good?
